Cousins' Closet Update
Hey Cousins’ Closet friends! Thanks for your patience while we’ve figured out our sale schedules. We had hoped to offer a Fall sale again this year, but with the arrival of Baby Bunch coming soon, we’ve decided it would be best to wait and offer a bigger, better Spring Sale for you.
Our Spring Sale 2010 will include spring/summer items as well as fall/winter for those who love shopping ahead. The sale will take place May 7-8 and will be held at Beaverton Christan Church again. Be sure to mark your calendars to come and shop!
If you haven't already joined our email list, be sure to send us a message at cousinscloset@hotmail.com with "join email" as the subject so you'll be the first to know when registration is open for consignors. Thank you for your loyalty and support of Cousins’ Closet. We love giving moms an easy way to clean out their closets and find great deals too! See you in May!

Acceptable Item Guidelines
*Safety is important to us. Please make sure none of your items have been recalled. Please visit http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerel.html to see what items have been recalled and do not knowingly bring any of them to the sale. Thank you!
Clothing: We accept infant and children's sizes up to size 12. All clothes must be in excellent condition and clean. They MUST be free of rips, stains, and tears. Any items not meeting these guidelines will be put aside. Make sure all buttons are in place, and all zippers and snaps work properly. Name brand clothes such as Gap, Gymboree, Carters, The Children's Place and Old Navy sell more quickly. We also accept MATERNITY clothes. Spring/Summer as well as Fall/Winter items will be accepted at our next event.
Small Items: Small loose items like bibs, bows, and socks should be placed in a clear bag with the tag SECURELY attached. These items sell best in groups.
Shoes: All shoes must be in excellent condition. Tie shoes together by the laces or use a ribbon or string. Be sure to SECURELY attach the tag.
Toys: All toys must be clean and in good working order. Please make sure your items have not been recalled. Items requiring batteries must have them included so that shoppers can be sure the item works. Any small parts or accessories should be placed in a bag and attached to the items for sale. We will only accept stuffed animals that are well known characters.
Books and Movies: Books cannot have ripped or torn pages. Please use scotch tape to secure tags to these items. Packing tape can rip covers.
Infant Equipment: Items like Boppy pillows, bouncers, bathtubs, play gyms, high chairs, swings, and strollers can all be brought to the sale. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CAR SEATS. We DO however accept infant carriers that are part of a travel system. If you are interested in selling your travel system, please email cousinscloset@hotmail.com. We will send you a checklist that must be signed and returned when you drop off your items. It is a good idea to group smaller items like rattles, bibs, or hats together in bags.
Larger Items: Furniture and large equipment are welcomed, but need to be cleared by Cousins' Closet before being brought to the sale. Please contact us at cousinscloset@hotmail.com if you are interested in bringing a larger item. Include a short description of the item and a picture if possible.

How to be a Consignor
1) Register for our next event on the right side of this page to receive your consignor number and tag template. Your consignor # lets us track every item you sell.
2) Organize what you want to sell and tag each item with a price you set. Please only price in increment of $.50. We recommend pricing items at 1/4 of the original price depending on the condition and quality of the item. Remember shoppers are looking for great deals. All items must be tagged according to our tagging guidelines (See our Quick Links to find them). Clothing items need to be hung on child size hangers.
3) Arrange for drop off of your items. You will be receiving an email from us closer to the sale to schedule your drop off.
4) Come shop the sale! Check out the great deals and spread the word.
5) Pick up items not being donated to charity immediately following the sale. Items not picked up will automatically be donated unless arrangements have been made.
6) Wait for your check. You'll get it within two weeks after the event.

Tagging Items
All items must be tagged by you. You keep 70% of the sale price.
Tags may be handwritten or typed.
They should look like this:

Consignor #: It should be placed on the top left hand corner of the tag. Be sure to mark it clearly.
Selling Price: Place the price that you set on the top right corner. Remember to only use increments of $.50.
Item Description: List a short description of the item in the middle (brand and type of item).
Donation: Place a D on the bottom left corner if you would like us to donate your items to Northwest Children's Outreach at the end of the sale. We will assume that items not marked with a D will be collected at the end of the sale by each consignor.
Sizing: List the size of the item (3-6 months, 3T, etc...) on the bottom center.
Half-price: Place a star on the bottom right if you'd like your item to sell for half price during the last 4 hours of the sale.
*Handwritten Tags: Please use cardstock. You can also use index cards cut in half.
*Tag Template: You can access our tag template to create 18 pre-made tags ready to print by emailing us at cousinscloset@hotmail.com. Please put "tag template" in the subject line. Remember to use cardstock and type in your consignor number and sale information before printing.
Please note that after tagging, all clothing items must be hung on child size hangers. Place hangers with the hook like a question mark (?) and attach the tag with a safely pin on the right side of the garment.
